The University of Charleston inducted four new members into the Golden Eagle Sports Hall of Fame last Friday night: former men’s soccer coach Pete Curtis, women’s basketball alum Alvena Allen Elliott, men’s basketball alum Ajamu Gaines, and baseball alum Ken Samms. Decision MakersThe School of Pharmacy was also featured on WOWK’s Decision Makers. university templateCharleston, W.Va.   – The University of Charleston Enactus team will host the fourth annual High School Business Ethics Case Competition in Geary Student Union on Thursday, October 17 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

This year’s High School Business Ethics Case Competition features over 80 students participating from schools such as Braxton County, Grafton, Greenbrier West, Jefferson, Liberty, Nitro, Ripley, Sissonville and St. Albans high schools, as well as Mason County Career & Technical Center. This is the largest field in the event’s history.

SOP-LogoUC’s School of Pharmacy is celebrating American Pharmacists Month this October with activities to help raise awareness about the vital role pharmacists play in American society. Upcoming events are:
Oct. 21: Halloween treat bags delivered to local schools, sponsored by CPFI
Oct. 26: Team UCSOP/ASCP Walk to End Alzheimer’s & Health screening at Teays Valley Goodwill, sponsored by NCPA

On Tuesday, October 22nd, the School of Pharmacy will host Mr. Robert Coffield, a health care attorney and partner at Flaherty Sensabaugh Bonasso PLLC in Charleston who  provides legal advice to a variety of business and health care agencies. This convocation will take place in the Geary Auditorium at 11 a.m. and is open to all students and faculty.

This Week in Sports:

  • Both soccer teams are at home vs. Urbana on Wednesday. The women kick off at 3 p.m. and the men at 7 p.m.
  • The volleyball team heads to Fairmont State on Friday, and Shepherd on Saturday.
  • Football is at West Virginia State this Saturday at 1 p.m.

This Talon was prepared by UC senior Megan Bauman. Megan is a communications major interning in the UC Communications Office, and a member of the women’s soccer team.
