The Office of Student Life is once again sponsoring the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. They are looking for any member of the University of Charleston Community willing to adopt a child.

This week, they will be picking out “Angels” for the program. If you are interested in adopting a child for the holidays, please contact Megan Sparrow. You are more than welcome to adopt multiple children. All items donated will be due to the Office of Student Life by Friday, December 6 by 3:00 p.m.

Last year we were able to adopt 27 children. Hopefully this year, we will be able to adopt more with your support of bringing a little holiday cheer to these deserving children.

The art exhibit “Subliminal” will be on view through December 15, 2013, at the University of Charleston’s Frankenberger Art Gallery.

The exhibition will feature prints by local artist Megan Schultz. In her artist statement, Schultz describes the concept for her exhibition: “I am interested in the illusion of solid form. The way forms emerge, transforming the flat surface of paper into cracks crevasses mounds. The points where masses of lines meet, they overlap, merge, or push against one another. There is a sense of solid form, dematerialized. Leaving the edges to flow into ambiguous space, they unravel. These are forms in flux. They are unstable, breaking apart, and coming together.
