A memorial service will be held for recently deceased University of Charleston student Ashli Whitehair on Wednesday, March 26, at 9:30 p.m. in Riggleman Hall’s Kennan Music Room (first floor below the auditorium).

UC ATEP student Kayla Dozier was recently inducted into the Beta Mu Chapter of Iota Tau Alpha. She joins fellow UC inductees Jeremy Bowman, Paige Leaver, Raquel Hill-Spranger, Cory Rueckert, and Lindsey Martin Rueckert as a member of the athletic training education honor society.
Dr. Martin’s journal article “‘I saw a concourse of strange figures’: The Masque, Voyeurism, and Coverdale’s Self-Consciousness in The Blithedale Romance” has been accepted for publication in The Nathaniel Hawthorne Review. Congratulations Dr. Martin!

The UC Education Department would like to invite you to a presentation by 2014 West Virginia Teacher of the Year Erin Sponaugle on Monday, 3/31 at 1 p.m. in the Riggleman Hall Rotunda. Ms. Sponaugle is a fifth grade teacher at Tomahawk Intermediate School in Hedgesville, W.Va. A National Board Certified Teacher with 11 years of experience, she has developed programs to address the interests and needs of pre-service teachers across the state. Women’s basketball coach Adam Collins was named MEC Coach of the Year! Chyress Lockhart was named to the First Team All-MEC and LeAnne Ross made the Second Team. The lady golden eagles finished in third place in the MEC and lost in the MEC tournament final.
The men’s basketball team are the first-ever MEC champions! Coach Dwaine Osborne was named MEC Co-Coach of the Year! Xavier Humphrey was named to the First Team All-MEC and Aleksander Kesic made the Second Team.
