Welcome Back!

A new academic year has begun here at the University of Charleston! We’re happy to see familiar faces on campus again as well as welcoming the new. This year’s opening session was held on August 18th. Several new employees were introduced and received their UC pins. Dr. Welch discussed the importance of innovation and announced five primary goals centered on the topic for the 2014-15 year:

  1. Develop innovation as UC’s brand
  2. Fulfill the mission to recruit, retain and educate students
  3. Regional integration
  4. Accreditation for the School of Pharmacy and the University
  5. Complete fundraising for the Sports Center

Several awards were given to faculty and staff members in recognition of their time of service, ranging from 5 to 15 years. Dr. Welch was recognized by Vice President Harless and Regional President Forster for serving the UC community for 25 years. DrWelchaward
